IAM/ Continental Contract Negotiating Team

Tom Higginbotham

Tom became a steward in 1970, then Chief Steward in 1972. Held position of Conductor-Sentinel in Local Lodge 1487. Served on negotiation committee for two rounds of negotiations while Chief Steward. In 1978 became District 142 General Chairperson. Has testified before Congressional Committee hearing on electronic monitoring and at National Mediation Board and hearings on single carrier status. In 2006, became President & Directing General Chairperson of District 142.Currently responsible for administration of 48 contracts.

Brent Thompson

Brent first became a Flight Attendant in 1986 hiring on with New York Air, and became a UFA union member in 1987, when the carrier merged with Continental. He was DEN Base Chair from 1991 – 1994; Vice president of Local Lodge 2339 from 1994 – 1996; President of Local Lodge 2339; from 1996 – 1997 and became a General Chairperson for District Lodge 142 in 1997 to present. He has been on the negotiating committees for Continental Express/ExpressJet in 1996 and 2000; Continental Micronesia in 1996 and Continental in 1996, 2000 and 2004.

Brian Wozniak

Brian became a Flight Attendant for Continental in 1991. He has been Trustee of Local Lodge 2339; president of Local Lodge 2339H; Vice President Texas State Council of Machinists; Vice President Texas State AFL-CIO; District 142 Flight Attendant Safety Coordinator. He has been on negotiating committees for ExpressJet/Charter 2004; Gulfstream Airlines currently; CommuteAir currently and Continental in 1996, 2000 and 2004.

Ernie Dominguez

Ernie first became a Flight Attendant in 1984. He has held Local Lodge positions of Trustee and Vice President. He has also been the Union Board member on arbitration cases. He spent approximately ten (10) years as a member of the IAH grievance committee and then Base Chair of the committee until becoming a District 142 General Chairperson in 2008.

Randy Hatfield

Randy first became a Flight Attendant in 1994. He has served on the Local Lodge organizing committee; reserve committee and human rights committee. He has held Local Lodge positions of Conductor Sentinel; Trustee and Vice President. He has served as Base chair of the CLE grievance committee. He became a District 142 General Chairperson in 2008.

Sheila Hammond

Sheila began her career as a Flight Attendant in 1968 Trans Texas Airlines (later named Texas International). She served on numerous Union committees until Texas International merged with Continental Airlines in 1982. She has been President of Local Lodge 2339. She has testified before the National Mediation Board; the National Transportation Safety Board as well as lobbied both houses of Congress regarding important Flight Attendant issues. She has served on numerous negotiating committees during her career, most recently in the 2000 and 2004 negotiations.

Marcus Valentino

Marcus was employed by Continental in 1992 and in 1993 became a Flight Attendant. He has been based in both EWR and CLE. He has served on numerous Local Lodge committees and also served as Local Lodge webmaster. He was elected President of Local Lodge 2339C in 2005 and currently holds that position as well as the current Base Chair of the CLE grievance committee.

Nick Ruiz

Nick began his Continental career in 1992 at El Paso working both inside and outside positions at the airport. He transferred to Inflight in 1994. In January 2009 he was elected to the IAH committee and is the Local Lodge 2339H Base Chair.

Joey Guider

Joey started with Continental in February 1998 as a Customer Service Representative and moved to Inflight in October of the same year. Joey flew out of several of the bases over his 12 years. He is currently an ISM in the NTA base and President of Local Lodge 2339N. Prior to his current position he worked with the Hotel, Legislative and Grievance Committees. Joey is also chairperson of the EWR Grievance Committee.
