Machinists Union Activists Help Houston Flood Victims
Last week, during the District 141 Committee Conference in San Antonio, IAM Sisters and Brothers came together and raised almost $3,000
On April 25th, about 30 members and their families, from IAM Local Lodges 811, 2909, 2198, 2339H, 2339N, and 2339O and officers of District 141 and 142 used the funds raised by member to cook and distribute almost 2,500 warm meals to to help out families hit by the recent floods in Houston, TX.
This event was in partnership with Harvest Time Church in Houston, TX.
“It was uplifting to see my fellow Machinists mobilized with such passion to stand up and help a community in need,” said IAM District 141 Assistant General Chairman Jorge Bonilla. “It shows that the ‘Fight’ of the Machinists goes well outside the workplace.”
Spanish television, Telemundo News 47 Houston, covered the efforts of the IAM activist volunteers.

AIDS Walk 2016
